Alyssa Sykes
Neurodiverse & queer aspiring author.
Alyssa the Writer
Alyssa is a neurodivergent, queer immigrant calling Canada her home (for now). Being a minority herself several times over, she prides herself on including diversity in her writings and breaking stereotypes. Alyssa wants her readers to be able to find pieces of themselves in her characters. She writes fantasies and dystopians and loves trauma dumping on her characters. She also spends way too long worldbuilding the smallest details and procrastinates schoolwork using writing. Lately she has taken an interest in writing children's picture books that are educational and fun.
Alyssa the Student
Alyssa is an undergraduate student at the University of Alberta. She is majoring in anthropology, focussing on the cultural and biological subfields. She plans to pursue a Master of Science in forensic anthropology, as well as a PhD in cultural anthropology. Alyssa hopes to pursue a career in forensic anthropology (focussing on osteobiography and skeletal identification), as well as be a professor in a university.
